Remember...

The Rainbows are there, even when we can't see them. It requires a little rain to fall, in order to see the hope.

Quick, Rain, fall. I really need to see the rainbow. Thank you.

National Letter Writing Month

Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Here is installment Number II. The first letter was written on some Art Deco Stationery I found at the thrift store. I have been saving it for the right occasion, this was it. This letter found it's beginnings on a page torn out of an Anthropologie catalog. I also fashioned the envelope from the cover page. If I had really been thinking, I would have folded so that my address would be in the place where a return address would sit. Alas, I was impulsive. With a little double stick tape and an old fashioned mailing label(with the FOULEST tasting glue known to man) we were set to post the latest letter! Off To Florida with you! Xo.

Pen Pal

Monday, April 5, 2010

I am taking part in this fun project with Apron Thrift Girl for National Letter Writing Month. I live in the lovely City of Angels, my pen-pal lives all the way in Florida. Here is the first installment. Don't peek, Vanessa.

She's Here

After many threats of a good spring rain shower, she finally appears. The light outside the cottage is muted and silver, the ever comforting sound of rain meeting the earth dances near my ears and heart. They delight in each other's company, a joyful embrace, followed by a big juicy kiss. Splash.

My Boy...

Thursday, April 1, 2010

...never lets me take his photo, and he's so cute. Makes me mad. Also, he has perfect pitch, sings like a lark, but won't. Oh the lessons this one has taught me. But yesterday, the light was good, the pup was calm and the boy even looked at the camera...I didn't push my luck, but managed to get a few good shots. Happy Spring!

Spring Felting

I haven't made an Easter basket in many a year. But there is a wee one in our family now, so the wheat berries have been soaked and planted in a little basket. These sweet ones are waiting for the grass to grow, so they can hop in and surprise the cutest little girl in the world.

Who knew...

Friday, March 26, 2010

I saw this at Dottie Angel. Who knew a funky, plastic, gold candelabra from 1971 would have this kind of potential. When I saw her Thrifty Tuesday post, I remembered all of those gold plastic numbers I have passed over, even mocked, on my thrifting adventures! Well, now I was on a quest. This set of candelabras was the first set I saw since my epiphany. They were listed at $2.95 for the pair. However, all GREEN tags were half off. Yippee. With a can of paint I already had on hand, I saved them from my mocking, because now, I LOVE them. A lot.
